Capitalizing Prepositions in Titles
9

Style manuals disagree about capitalizing prepositions in
13
1
titles. More conservative manuals say that prepositions
13
1
should not be capitalized regardless of length (unless they
13
1
are the first or last word in the title). The trend, however,
13
1
seems to be toward capitalizing the longer prepositions
13
1
(through, around, etc.) and leaving shorter prepositions
13
1
lower case. The cutoff in length seems to be around five
13
1
letters, and you will see prepositions like
13
0
under
8
0
styled both
13
1
upper case and lower case.
